More than 7,000 life-sized pottery soldiers, horses, chariots, and weapons have been unearthed from three pits near Xi'an, China. The Archaeological site opened to the public in 1979. The area was listed by UNESCO in 1987 as a World Cultural Heritage site and has been described as one of the most sensational archeological finds of all time.
