When the ovary is sectioned so that its interior may be studied, it is seen that it is not a solid body, but consists of a wall enclosing one or more cavities, icalled locules. {Fig. 38.) In these cavities or locules are the small bodies called ovules, each of which is capable of developing into a seed. Point out the parts of the ovary shown in Figure 38. The ovary may contain one locule or many and the number of ovules in a locule also varies in different ovaries. In Beans and.
