A partisan for the foot guards, from the reign of Elector Frederick Augustus I (1694 - 1697) Robust, ridged blade with symmetrical, elaborately curved lugs, on one side the combined coat of arms of the electorate of Saxony under electoral hat, on the other side the cypher "CFA", both surmounting elaborately etched scrolling leaves. Conical baluster socket of ten lobes with long, riveted side traps. Shortened older haft. Length 183 cm.
