McDonough, a representative ofBoston, resurrected the bill in the garb of a sub-stitute bill allowing Boston to draw water fromthe Shawsheen river. In speaking on the bill,the gentleman from Boston said that Boston wasnow fast growing in population. Her peoplewould, in a few years to come, need more wateras the people of to-day want purer water. Theopportunity was now open for the city and itshould not be given but a passing notice.
