Hundreds of Polish citizens, including uprising participants, attended the ceremony. Also in attendance were Brig. Gen. Richard R. Coffman, 1st Infantry Division Mission Command Element commander and Lt. Col. Gerald Walsh, 415th Civil Affairs Battalion commander, all whom are deployed to Poznań in support of Army Europe’s Atlantic Resolve mission, which aims to assure NATO Allies and partner nations of United States’ commitment to the Alliance and to build interoperability between those countries’ militaries while deterring aggression in that region.
