Yamdrok lake is a freshwater lake located in Nangartse County, Shannan Prefecture, about 170 km (110 mi) southwest of Lhasa, capital of Tibet in China


Yamdrok Lake is on the road between Lhasa and Gyantse in the Tibetan Autonomous Region (TAR) of the Peoples Republic of China. It is some 14,400 feet above sea level. Yamdrok Lake (also known as Yamdrok Yumtso or Yamzho Yumco) is a freshwater lake, it is one of the three largest sacred lakes in Tibet (28°56′N 90°41′E). It is over 72 km (45 mi) long.
