Sólheimajökull is a glacier in southern Iceland. The glacier is an offshoot of the great Mýrdalsjökull. The melt water is drained through the Jökulsá river. The glacier is a popular tourist attraction, being close to the Black Beach (Vik). Visitors can take a guided walk on the glacier with local companies providing guides, crampons and ice axes!
