In a very short time this line has won, and deservedlyso, a ranking position, such as held by other Brunswickproducts in their respective fields. When, in 1915, the House of Brunswick decided toapply The Brunswick principles to tire making, it was amomentous step. The prestige of the House was at the success of the venture was assured. For it wasbacked by painstaking preparation, including two years offinal laboratory work before the first tire was built. Our aim was to combine, as never before, all thesupremacies of Tiredom into one final type tire. Hithertoeach tire was noted for an outstanding feature. No single one combined them First, came a modelplant, built and equippedunder able tire experts. Aplant where every method, every process is the latestand the best. Second, a staff of excep-tional experts, selectedfrom the factories whichbuild unusual tires. Each had been chosen for special knowledge, for uniqueability in some detail of tire building. Third, an accurate knowledge of all good Tiresand Tubes. We made an elaborate study of each— made countless tests and comparisons. In twoyears over 200 types were classified. We learned the best formulas, the preferable fabrics, the best treads. We learned the approved constructionmethods. We know by tests which leave no room forquestion. We recognize the methods to avoid. The Brunswick idea is always to pay perfections the best was adopted — in every detail — regardlessof initial cost. That is all there is to good tire making. It is simply aquestion of knowledge and standards and skill. Nosecrets nor patents prevent making an ideal tire. But standards
