Napoleon Bonaparte inside his tent at the Battle of Jena-Auerstedt in Germany

Napoleon Bonaparte (15 August 1769 – 5 May 1821) was a French military and political leader who rose to prominence during the latter stages of the French Revolution and its associated wars in Europe. Mark Schneider (1969) is a well-known professional American actor who portraits Napoleon Bonaparte during Napoleonic battle reenactments and events throughout Europe and America. This photo was taken during the 205th anniversary of the Battle of Jena-Auerstedt (14 October 1806). The twin battles of Jena and Auerstedt were fought on 14 October 1806 on the plateau west of the river Saale in today's Germany, between the forces of Napoleon I of France and Frederick William III of Prussia. The decisive defeat suffered by the Prussian Army subjugated the Kingdom of Prussia to the French Empire until the Sixth Coalition was formed in 1812.
