Editorial use only. The original prison and courthouse was completed in 1820. The New Prison seen here was taken into use in 1848 after penal reforms were introduced. This new building provided substantial improvements in conditions for the prisoners. The museum complex is open to visitors. Loch Fyne can be seen to the right.
