Tily, president of the Strawbridge and Clothier Co., of Philadelphia, who told the Senate Committee Investigating Profit Sharing that the only practical system of profit sharing lay in 'a fat pay envelope.' He attacked federal tax systems saying that government costs are hurting and killing business. He later remarked that the Republican party had a few honest members, to which Senator Arthur Vandenberg retorted, 'That is shown by the Pennsylvania election returns'
