The living room has anexcellent fireplace, constructed of old-gold brick, with a low bookcase at eitherside; and in the dining room is an artis-tic buffet, which, with its china closets,extends across the entire end wall. Thecounter-shelf of this buftet runs the fullwidth of the feature, and over the cen-ter portion of it are four small art-glasswindows. The lower part of the wallsof this room are paneled, along the topedge of which runs the usual plate THE DIXING-ROOM CALIFORNIA BUNGALOWS 101 The woodwork of both rooms is of Ore-gon pine, treated to resemble missionoak in color, and the walls are plasteredand papered. The flooring here is ofquarter-sawed oak. There are tw^o bed rooms, each ofwhich contains a closet. One of theserooms also possesses a small fireplace,as well as a tiny alcove with a window^seat. The woodwork in these rooms iswhite enameled, and the walls are cov-ered with paper of delicate colors andpatterns. The kitchen and bath room are like-wise finished in white enamel. Thelower part of the walls are of hard-finish plaster, which has been blockedoff and enameled so as to give the ap-pearance of tile. The upper part of thewalls and the ceiHngs are tinted. Onthe screened porch in the rear of thekitchen are a broom closet and a lava- tory, besides the customary wash tubs,and in the small hall is a small linencloset. The woodwork of the hall isalso enameled, and the flooring in all ofthe rear parts
