In this Egyptian wall painting, Isis, the Mother Goddess (right) suckles her son Horus, portrayed here as almost an adult. Her husband and the father of Horus was Osiris, who was also her brother. Set, Isis' and Osiris' brother, had killed Osiris. To escape Set and to keep Horus out of his reach, according to Egyptian mythology, Isis took refuge in a papyrus swamp.
