Antoinette "Mama" D'Amato is seen campaigning with her son, Senator Alphonse D'Amato in Little Italy in New York on August 4, 1991. Ms. D'Amato passed away on Thursday April 24, 2014 at the age of 99 years old in her home in Island Park, Long Island. Ms. D'Amato appeared in her son's 1980 campaign commercial holding a bag of groceries and saying "Vote for my son, He'll be a good senator" .
