Itwas submitted to Mr. Lincoln, who gave an opinion inrelation to the same, the second photograph being fromthe original in Mr. Lincolns handwriting. The ques-tion upon which this opinion was given was afterwardslitigated in the courts of Illinois and finally decided inthe case of Walker v. Herrick, (18th Illinois SupremeCourt Reports, at page 570.) The Supreme Court heldin harmony with the opinion of Mr. Linco
