Inthis Bowdoin excelled. There weresome redeeming features, however;Bowdoin displayed a beautiful inter-ference on all end runs, but could donothing with the New Hampshireline, which was unusually strong ondefence. Then, too, the spectaculardefensive work of Captain Proud wasgood to see. At all times he seemedto be present, and his many savagetackles did much to keep the scorewithin reason. Swasey, too, playedwell for us. For Bowdoin, Smith at fullback was a fiend withthe ball; he was ably seconded byWetherell, left half-back. Bowdoin kicked off to New Hamp-shire, but the ball was not advancedquite the required 10 yards in thethree downs.
