German astronomy atlas, 1882 cover artwork and titles. The name of this atlas (Bilderatlas der Sternenwelt) is across top, with the name of the Austrian author Edmund Weiss (1837-1917). The main artwork (centre) shows an astronomy observatory dome with a large refractor telescope, and a man and woman at lower right. The two artworks below the main artwork show in Austria the observatory of the University of Vienna (left) and in Germany the Potsdam Observatory (right). Details across bottom indicate the atlas was published in Stuttgart. The text throughout is in German.
