David Anderson, Garrettford, was persuaded by Edward Reid to replace My Maryland with Premier last year and in his wonderful success with this latter variety wishes now he had had his eyes opened the season before. The Leo Niessen Co. are strong on all grades of roses, fine asters and gladioli. Mr. Niessen thinks the pres- ent slump will not last long as the cool nights coming will shorten crops and quicken the demand. J. G. Niedinger says no one need worry about the coming season, every fellow who really wants business and goes after it as if he wanted It, will get all he can do and more. Gladioli, asters and roses were quan- tity products of the Berger Bros, mar- ket the past week. Business was— well, the least said about it the better. Excellent asters, first crop roses as well as specials together with gladioli were features of the Edward Reid stock the past week. carl Corts is spending his vacation with his family in Maryland where they are enjoying the sylvan life. J. Duetscher and wife motored to Ocean City, N. J., on Saturday last, where they spent the week-end. K. Providence, R. I. Trade the past week has been rather quiet, stock being more than plentiful. Gladioli are coming in faster than they can be used up, and the asters this year are unusually poor, only a very few^ of the growers bringing real good asters into the market.
