Aeriel Drone View of Makoko Community, in Lagos Nigeria. it is an informal settlement across the 3rd Mainland Bridge on the coast of Lagos Mainland while some of the settlement is on the built on the stilts of the lagoon, the rest is on the land. Surrounded by water, the daily activities are water based and the main occupation is water related which is fishing. As seen in the picture, their mode of transportation is also the use of canoe, which is essential for fishing and also for the moving from one place to the other. Another important thing to note is the use of cars on the land, which is another means of transportation. This is used to transport their products to the market for sale to the consumers. There is also the use of boreholes to pump water into the home and sometimes its also use to pump the water back into the lagoon when there is too much water in the houses of the occupants, it is prone to excess water. Furthermore, its important to note the houses built on this seashore, from the buildings it is evident that it is neighborhood occupied by the lower class of the population.
