Henry E. Parker. Temple, a returned missionary, whohad served at Malta and other East-ern stations. Among active parishioners of theearly time, not hereinbefore men-tioned, were David Kimball (editorof the New Hampshin- Observer), AsaMorrill (afterward captain of Bostonpolice), David L. Morril (an ex-gov-ernor of New Hampshire), Eevi (afterward vice-president ofthe United States), Franklin Pierce(afterward president of the UnitedStates), Ira Perley (afterward chiefjustice of New Hampshire), P. Stone and Rev. HenryWood (editors of the CongrcoationalJournal). The second pastorate was that of Rev. Henry E. Parker, a graduate ofDartmouth and Union Theologicalseminary, who came to the church,at the age of thirty years, in April,1850, from temporary service at East-port, Me., and was installed May 14,1851.
