The tourniquet is now removed from the root of the penis. Thedorsal arteries bleed, and require to be clamped and ligated. Thearteries of the corpora cavernosa usually require no ligatures; if theyspurt, they may be clamped or touched with the Paquelin. A fewminutes^ compression usually sufficies to check bleeding from anyremaining sources.
