Centrepiece of the 2009 London Design Festival, Sept 2009, The Tournament is an art installation, comprising ceramic chess pieces, up to 2 metres in height, on a glass mosaic chess board. Many of the illustrations on the chess pieces depict iconic buildings in London. Members of the public are playing a game of chess, with helpers pushing the pieces around the board. The chess pieces were handcrafted by Jaime Hayon, working with the Italian ceramics exerts Bosa, in Veneto, Italy
