Fairey Firefly AS5 WB271 vintage Second World War-era carrier-borne fighter plane and anti-submarine aircraft that was principally operated by the British Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm (FAA). WB271 was Operated by the Royal Navy Historic Flight. Seen at the Great Warbirds Air Display at West Malling, Kent, in 1985 the aircraft began a restoration period in 1997. Having returned to airworthy state in February 2003 the aircraft then fatally crashed at Duxford in July 2003.
