While Tampas populationincreased from 37,000 to 51,000 her high school enrollmentincreased 4*/| times, and the number of her graduates 5%times. This indicates somewhat the power to draw, as wellas the power to hold the students in the high school duringthe adolescent period, and this is one of the chief reasons forwhich the Junior High School movement was instituted.
