The shell is hard and very flinty, yet thin and smooth, and of a pale green color: the flesh thick and solid, brilliant orange color, very dry, fine grained and a rich delicate flavor; weigh from eight to ten pounds. Vines are re- markably vigorous and wonderfully productive. The whole crop seems to ripen at once, as soon as or before the Hubbard, and is one of the Tory best keepers and shippers.
