The main thoroughfares arelighted by electricity, and both electricity and gas arein use for illuminants in public buildings, stores, fac-tories and dwellings. An electric street railwaycarries passengers over six miles of Plymouths high-way and into the adjoining towii of Kingston. The town has a public library containing eleventhousand volumes. Its schools rank among the bestin the State, and its high-school building, erected in1891 at a cost of forty thousand dollars, has accom-modation for over two hundred pupils. In its reli-gious denominations are represented the L^, Baptist, I niversalist, Methodist,Catholic, Episcopal, Advent and German Lutheranfaiths.
