Haughton described it as abed of pisolitic magnetic ore, coarser grained than that of Gareg- PRE-CARBONIFEROUS ORES. fawr, redder in colour, more variable in composition, and highlyphosphoric. The bed in which the ore occurs is 18 ft. thick, isconformable to the associated black slates, strikes E. 35° N., anddips 80^ ^S. The average composition of this ore is given incolunm I of the table below. Xear the walls of the bed of pisolitic ore described above, someblack slaty ore (analysis II, below) occurs, containing 40-34 percent, of mixed peroxide and protoxspecialreportson13geol
