The Butterwalk in the South Devon town of Dartmouth. The buildings, originally merchants' houses, date from the first half of the 17th century. The houses were built on relcaimed land, part of the New Quay development. Two dates are given for houses - 1635 and 1640. They were restored in the 1950s to repair bomb damage from WW2 in 1943. Today they are popular with tourists visiting the town. A pleasant place to hace a coffee or ice cream in the warm weather.
