Location for the Total Solar Eclipse of 2017-Aug-21. Eerie and impressive landscape of the “Painted Hills”, part of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument, near Mitchell in Oregon, N, W. Local time of 08:17 (8 hours behind UT). Full 180 degree panorama using a mm Nikon fish-eye lens on D810. Note the slightly smoky sky from numerous forest fires in the region. Sky was clearer in the direction of the Sun. Eclipse times:1st contact at 09:07:30; 2nd at 10:21:50, 3rd at 10:22:54, 4th at 11:42 lasted 2 minutes 4 seconds.
