Plant viscid pubescent, often dioecious, much the aspect of Silene noctiflora L.; stem 1-2 feet high, branched; leaves cvate- oblong or lanceolate, acute, lower with margined petioles; flowers paniculate, white or pinkish, opening at dusk and closing next morning; calyx tubular, ovoid in fruit, petals crowned.
