Mural by the Hopi artist Fred Kabotie in the Grand Canyon Desert View Watchtower.


These murals are in the Hopi Room of the Grand Canyon Desert View Watchtower. The images were painted by Hopi artist Fred Kabotie. They depict aspects of Hopi mythology and religious ceremonies. The watchtower is a copy of an Anasazi watchtower. It was built in 1930 by the architect Mary Colter. The tower was granted National Historic Monument status on 28th May 1987.
