ISS astronaut sleeping, Expedition 16. NASA astronaut Daniel Tani, the Expedition 16 flight engineer, sleeping in his sleeping bag in the Unity node of the International Space Station (ISS). The sleeping bag is designed to aid sleep in the microgravity conditions of free-fall experienced in Earth orbit. Tani's arms are floating free, but the rest of his body is restrained and kept in place. Tani left Earth for the ISS on 23 October 2007, and returned on 20 February 2008. Photographed on 2 November 2007, during mission STS-120.
