On the side of this pedestal are the names of acompany of soldiers who were entirely annihilated in the lastwar with the natives. Bulawayo is destined to be a city ofimportance when this frontier country is settled up. It nowhas railroads from three directions, that is from Cape Town,Beira and Victoria Falls.
