Maple Storm Two was one of the Canadian Forces pre-deployment exercises for soldiers who where deploying to Canadian Forces bases and operating units in Afghanistan. Canada first sent troops to Afghanistan in 2002 as a response to the September 11, 2001 attacks by al-Qaeda led operatives. As of April 2011, 155 Canadians have been killed as part of the mission.
