Kathakali:- Indian Classical Dance from Kerala is based on Ramayana, Mahabharata and Stories from Shaiva Literature. Performed outdoors in an all night function, voices chant the stories as mimed by dancers. Traditionally Kathakali is performed by men and young boys, who play the parts of both males and females. Faces are made up to look like Painted Masks, The costumes consist of full skirt, heavy jacket, numerous garlands and neckless and towering headdress.
