Mr. Metcalfeis a gentleman of strong domestic tastes, devoted to his family and theirwelfare, and gives t(j liis sons every opportunity for obtaining a thorougheducation. He takes very little interest in fraternal matters, but was at onetime colonel of the first regiment of the uniformed rank of the Knights ofPythias.
