'Attack on Quebec by General Montgomery, Morning of 31st December, 1755', (1877). Irish soldier Richard Montgomery was killed while attempting to capture Quebec during a fierce snow storm on 31 December 1775. He had started his military career fighting for the British but later changed sides. Illustration from Popular history of the Dominion of Canada, with art illustrations, from the earliest settlement of the British-American colonies to the present time; together with portrait engravings and biographical sketches of the most distinguished men of the nation by Charles R Tuttle, (1877-1879).
