View NW of Corpus Christi church, Tremeirchion, North Wales, UK, showing part of the circular churchyard with 12 yews (one reputed to be 800 years old), the S porch, bellcote & dormer window. The sundial by the porch was made in 1748 using the square shaft of the C14th churchyard cross: inscription on E face reads " / Nantgwilliam / 1748". The miracle-working Medieval cross-head (Pilgrim's Cross, Rood of Grace) was returned to the churchyard in 2004, placed on a different stone shaft on a stepped base. In the early 1800s the church was restored by Dr Johnson's friend Hester Thrale and her second husband Gabriel Piozzi who had built Brynbella Italian villa nearby. To rear L is Tremeirchion National School built 1865 which is still in use as a primary school (Ysgol Tremeirchion).
