A mother feeding its babies. West Sumatra, Indonesia: THIS MOTHER bird feeds her young, resorting to acrobatics so she can keep an eye out. One image shows the zitting performing the splits over its babies, keeping an eye out for predators. The Zitting cisticola is named for its call, like repeated snips of scissors. They row up to inches in length and can ascend up to 6,200 feet in the summer, but only 4,300 feet in the winter. These images were captured by photographer Yan Hidayat (44) in the Pasar Baru Bayang area, in West Sumatra, Indonesia, using a Nikon D90 camera. ?The Zitting Cisticola feeds its chicks nesting in the rice fields after the rice harvest,? said Yan. ?Starting from the process of searching for nests, rice field survey, to the process of making hiding places, camouflage, and the photos obtained. ?What I like in shooting this bird is the sacrifice of a mother who is struggling to find food for her child. ?Seeing the moment, a bird feeds its child is a special satisfaction for me in capturing it. ?There is a sense of joy and joy in my heart because it is very rare for me to encounter moments like mediadrumimages/YanHidayat
