Chinese district in the Philippines, 18th century. Historical illustration of a scene from a book about the voyages of James Cook, which took place between 1768 and 1780. This scene shows people watching and betting on fighting roosters in Manila in what is now the Philippines. The third voyage of James Cook passed through several parts of South-East Asia on the return home. Artwork published in 1835.
