Famous Colored Troops, the 369th Infantry under Colonel Haywards, arrive in Hoboken, This regiment, consisting mostly of men from New York City and surrounding areas, were the first American troops to reach the Rhine. They received multiple citations in Army orders, and the entire regiment was awarded the Croix de Guerre.
