Memorial to the uncle and nephew bards Donald MacIntyre and Donald John MacDonald on South Uist, Scotland


This monument commemorates two 20th century Gaelic bards, Donald John MacDonald (1919 - 1986) and Donald Macintyre (1889 - 1964) who were nephew and uncle. It was created in 1996 from stones of the houses in which they were born on the island of South Uist. Although born on South Uist Donald MacIntyre spent most of his life in Paisley and was known as the Paisley Bard.
