The crumbling shell of a building in Havana Vieja Cuba roofless windowless classic architecture of La Habana Cuba

After the 1959 revolution in Cuba all the American residents, businessmen and gangsters fled back to the United States leaving behind a city of fantastic architecture from 18th Century coastal forts, Baroque and neoclassical designs of the 1820s to art deco of 1920s and 1950s however since the revolution there has been little investment or restoration so the buildings have been slowly crumbling away. It is only recently especially in Havana Vieja that restoration has started to save these beautiful structures
