Donnohue put up the first cardingmachine in the town, and was also the firstjustice of the peace there. The first church organization was effectedby the Presbyterians. The Methodist churchwas established there in 1844, and a houseof worship was built in the year 1840. Thefounding of the Christian church was a littlelater than that of the Methodist.
