The boiling water drawn up into thesyringe to rinse out the alcohol andglycerin should never be squirted backinto the sterilizer, since by doing so the 1328 THE DENTAL COSMOS. water in the sterilizer is mixed withtraces of glycerin, and the interior ofthe syringe barrel really is not freedentirely from this undesirable admix-ture.
