The cockpit of a Lockheed SR-71 "Blackbird" reconnaisance aeroplane. This example is stationed oustide the extrance to the museum at the Huntsville Space and Rocket Centre museum near Huntsville, Alabama. Becuase of its high speed the skin of the plane heats up significantly in 's panels are therefore designed to allow for some expansion. A fully fuelled Blackbird at rest is said to drip fuel through the cracks between its loosely fitting panels.
