Most of these are paintedin blue, green, yellow or orange. The shapeof these chargers is usually concave, but a fewhave a broad flange. Tlie majority of thesewith the tulip design have the yellow^ leadglaze back, though some have the whiteenamel in both shapes. Here are illustrateda pair with the same form of tulips, but ofdifferently shaped pieces. These are the twowhich have their reverse sides photographedand illustrated earlier in the })ook. As a rule the chargers with the tulips havethe blue dashes round the edge. There are,however, a few, illustrated here, with a blueornamentation on the extreme edge, and otherswithout either, but these are rare. Had thisware been of Dutch manufacture, the tulipdesign might be accounted for
