The Gothard Electric Railway
Artist Daniele Buzzi (1890-1974) lived in Locarno in the Ticino cannon of Switzerland, and produced an impressive number of travel posters for the region over several decades. This atmospheric piece was created to promote The Gotthard Rail Line, which runs from Lucerne to Chiasso and includes the Gotthard Tunnel, which was electrified in 1922. This original stone litho poster from 1924 is an example of Buzzi's early, distinctive style.
