Virgin and Child 1736 Giovanni Giuliani The inscription indicates that this bozzetto was made at Stift Heiligenkreuz where Giuliani resided from 1711 until his death. Although the Abbey retained the right of ownership of his entire output during that period, and its museum still houses the vast majority of terracottas he modeled over those years, a small number, of which the present sketch is an example, were apparently given away and have found their way to other Virgin and Child 207684
