A few Japa- nese lilies come in day by day. Various Notes. Early asters have been on this mar- ket for a week, the stock consisting of two new varieties sent in by W. J. Kramer, of Rocky Eiver, O. They are Kramer's White Perfection and Pink Perfection. The first lot arrived June 22. They are of the Comet type and unusually double. Mrs. Frank A. ^riedley, of Rocky Eiver, O., underwent an operation for appendicitis, June 24, at Lakewood hos- pital. She is doing nicely and expects to be brought home within a week. Fall flower show talk is going the rounds again. This time/t;he chances of Cleveland's having an Exhibition are good. A horticultural society has been organized by some of the city's best known men, and a meeting in conjunc- tion with the Florists' Clbb will be held soon. \ Some of the numerous auto owners among the local florists are talking of going to the convention "a. la gaso- ; There are at least a dozen ma- chines that could be used, and if their owners should all decide to go in that way it would make quite a parade. The F. R. Williams Co. is building one new house this year, 30x300. Bram- ley & Son have about finished three houses, each 30x300, and the J. M. Gas- ser Co. has three houses, each 27x200, in course of construction at the Rocky River plant. F. A. F. Pittsfield, Mass.—Thomas L. Lowden, of T. Li. Lowden & Sons, and Miss Grace O.
